Brewing news UK: Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries to engage structural changes

Carol Gee Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries' finance department has been the focus of major change, including the promotion of Carol Gee to director of finance, The Express & Star posted May 31.

Carol, who was group financial controller for four years and previously worked for Pricewaterhouse-Coopers - the UK's largest accountancy and business advisory firm - led W&DB's latest acquisition of Celtic Inns for £43.6 million.

Growing up on a farm in North Yorkshire, Carol had first-hand experience of running a business, looking after everything from the sheep to the books.

She now heads up a team of 50 in the Group Management Services finance department, which takes care of everything from payroll, purchase and sales ledger to the financial reports.

Other changes at the Wolverhampton-based pubs and brewing group include the appointment of Dawn Callow, former director of finance, to the role of director of treasury and risk. Andrew Winning, who was director of treasury and risk, has taken on the role of finance director with tenanted and leased pubs arm The Union Pub Company (UPC).

Andrew Andrea has moved from his role as finance director at WDB Brands to become change management director for UPC.
